Check these resources to find the winners of the World Series, dating all the way back to the year 1903!
The World Series is the "be-all" and "end-all" of baseball tournaments. So it's no wonder that so many people take such an interest in who the winners turn out to be. Unless you faithfully watch the games unfold on television, you may not have a clue who the most recent World Series winners were. But thanks to the Internet, that information is literally a few mouse clicks away. For information on past and current World Series winners, follow these links.
Step 1:

Go to ESPN's website. Visit http://www.espn.com/. From there, surf to the "MLB" section (for Major League Baseball) under ‘All Sports.' Click on ‘Standings' on the black toolbar at the top of the page. Then find the ‘All-Time' link at the top of the chart. Click on that, and choose the ‘World Series' page. You'll find the World  Series winners from this year all the way back to 1903, with a few exclusions.

Step 2:

Visit http://mistupid.com/sports/worldseries.htm. Okay, the site name is a little bit weird, but the actual information on the site is great. This database lists all of the World Series winners since 1903, minus the few years that major league baseball took some time off. The winners of each league are listed as the two teams competing for the World Series title, and the winner of the World Series is denoted with a green circle. Scroll down for more current World Series winners.

Step 3:

Surf to www.baseball-reference.com/postseason. If you want to find past World Series winners and other stats, click on the link above or copy the link into your browser's address bar. It will take you directly to a page that lists the most current World Series winners all the way back to 1903. It even includes the winners of ‘exhibition' games played in the late 1800's, which is always interesting for the major league baseball history buff.

Step 4:

Check an online sports almanac. Another place you can go to find World Series winners is the online almanac at http://www.baseball-almanac.com/ws/wsmenu.shtml. Surf to this web page and you'll find a list of all the past World Series winners, how many games were won and lost, as well as links to written summaries of the game. (It's really interesting to read about the earliest MLB World Series games in 1903 and 1905.) The World Series winners chart is found at the bottom of the page, after a little bit of writing about baseball. Scroll down to find all the World Series winners to date.
