Some people are destined to work for the “Man.” Some people are destined to carve out their destinies by not working for the “Man.” Finding the right job doesn’t always come around quickly as it does for others. The same thing can be said about someone’s mission in life. Some realize it faster than other people.

A lot of people say that they are tired of their work and they feel they are stagnating. They feel that they could do so much more. Understand that people don’t realize what they’re meant to do in an instant. It is not something you just will to happen, it is something that if it happens, then it will happen. It could be the calling of the church to become a priest or to become a teacher and share your knowledge with the younger people.

The most important thing to remember here is you have to do something that you love. Having a mission in life entails having no regrets to what you are doing. Let’s say before you were working at a multinational company and earning top dollar but you weren’t happy. Now you are teaching history to a bunch of seventh graders in some small grade school in your hometown. But in teaching you feel so fulfilled and much happier than how you felt while you had your desk job. Part of finding your mission in life is having no regrets in leaving behind something in order to purse what you love. It is doing something you love, something you don’t consider as work that would be a good indicator that you have indeed found your mission in life.

Understand that by looking for your mission in life, you have to sacrifice certain aspects, like the money example stated above. But if you find something that makes you happy and makes you be all you can be, in turn you will see that that sacrifice you made will be worth it.

Always be patient. Never rush in finding your mission in life. The more you rush things, the bigger the risk of not realizing your mission. You might just end up passing by that thing you were looking for.

Finding your mission in life is like looking for something that would appear natural to you even though you have had no or minimal experience in that certain field.

Whenever you do things because you should and not because you want what you are doing most probably is not your mission in life. You should have that intrinsic desire to change something in your life; a drive or a belief that you can so much more and do it with all your heart and mind. Committing to your mission is a big decision, as I said earlier you should have no regrets when you finally find that mission. Want leads to commitment, which then leads to choice. Choice leads to should and should leads into decision. Decision ultimately ends in sacrifice—you have to sacrifice really in order to attain your mission in life.
